How to Use PolygonScan to Track Transactions and Tokens

PolygonScan is a block explorer for the Polygon network. It lets you see exactly what a transaction did, whether it went through, and where your tokens went. If a transaction is stuck or you want to check an approval, this is the tool.

You do not need an account. The site is public. You just need a transaction hash, a wallet address, or a token contract address.

Entering a transaction hash

A transaction hash is a long string of letters and numbers, usually starting with 0x. You get it from your wallet after you send a transaction. Paste that hash into PolygonScan's search bar and hit enter. The page loads a single transaction record.

Interpreting status: success, pending, failed

Look at the top of the transaction page. There is a status field.

A pending transaction can be replaced with a new one using a higher gas fee, but only if your wallet supports that feature. Otherwise you wait.

Gas used vs. gas limit

Two numbers appear side by side: Gas Used and Gas Limit. Gas Limit is the maximum amount of gas you agreed to spend; your wallet set this. Gas Used is the actual amount the transaction consumed.

If Gas Used is lower than Gas Limit, you only pay for what was used and the rest is refunded. If Gas Used equals Gas Limit, you paid the full limit. That can happen with complex smart contract calls or when the transaction uses all available gas. If Gas Used is exactly the Gas Limit and the status is Failed, the transaction ran out of gas. Increase the gas limit next time.

Spotting Token Transfers

Scroll down to the "Token Transfers" section. It lists every token that moved in the transaction. Each row shows the token symbol or name, the amount transferred, the sender wallet, and the receiver wallet.

If you sent MATIC, it appears under "MATIC Transfers." If you sent an ERC-20 token, it appears under "Token Transfers." The amounts are exact, including decimals. You can click any wallet address to see its full transaction history, or click the token contract address to see the token's total supply and holder list.

Checking Token Approvals

Approvals are permissions you give a smart contract to spend your tokens. They show up on PolygonScan under your wallet's "Token Approvals" tab. To check, enter your wallet address in the search bar, then on your wallet page look for the "Token Approvals" section. It lists every contract you have approved, the token, and the approved amount. Some approvals are for unlimited amounts. That is a risk: if that contract is compromised, an attacker can drain that token.

Revoking Approvals

You can revoke an approval by sending a new approval transaction for the same token and contract, with an amount of zero. Many users do this through approval revoker tools like Revoke.cash or Etherscan's token approval tool. Those tools connect to your wallet and generate the zero-amount approval transaction. You pay gas for the revocation; the cost is small. After revocation, the contract can no longer spend that token from your wallet. You can always approve it again later if needed.

Is your transaction stuck?

A stuck transaction shows as Pending. It has not been mined. Check the gas price you set against the current network fee. PolygonScan shows a "Gas Tracker" on the homepage. If your gas price is below the average, your transaction may sit for hours.

Options: - Wait. It will eventually mine if the gas price is not zero. - Replace it with a higher-gas transaction, if your wallet supports that. - Cancel it by sending a zero-value transaction to yourself with the same nonce and a higher gas fee.

Cancelling also costs gas.

What this page does not cover

No on-chain pair was found for doglaikacoin on Polygon as of August 31, 2026. The queries "doglaikacoin" and "doglaika" returned no results. This page explains PolygonScan generally. It does not claim any token exists or trade on that network.

PolygonScan is a diagnostic tool. It does not tell you if a token is legitimate or a scam. It tells you what happened on chain. You still need to verify the token contract address yourself.
